After the admission of ‚Japan Akita e.V. as a
provisional member of the VDH (Verband für das Deutsche
Hundewesen = The German Kennel Club), which means that
we have been recognized as an official breeding
association, we have now applied for the international
kennel name protection. We breed according to the rules
of “Japan Akita e. V.” within the VDH/FCI.
We dedicate our kennel name to our first breeding dog
Koisakura Go Yahata Kensha. The translation of the name
signifies ‘dark flowering cherry’ and is a fitting
description of our female dog as she has dark red fur
and a harmonic appearance.

Like every responsible breeder we strive to breed
healthy, stable and social dogs according to the
standards. That is why we try to get as much information
as we can about our sires and stud dogs in order to
reach our breeding goal. Due to the rather small number
of Akita’s in Germany we have imported three female
Akita’s from Japanese lines and have thereby enriched
our breeding potential.
Our
puppies grow up in the house and in the garden and take
part in every day family life. In order to provide
security and safety they are watched 24/7 by one of us
or our family. As soon as they leave the box they are
born, they are integrated in the pack and learn to
respectfully act with adult conspecifics as well as our
tomcat.
In the course of socialization they are confronted
with various everyday situations and everyday sounds,
they have their first car trips, short walks and
encounter with older people, runners, cyclists and
children.

As of their 8th week we go to puppies play dates
within a dog school. Thereby we want to help them having
a good start with their new families.
Before handing over our puppies we guarantee that
they have been vaccinated, dewormed, earmarked with a
microchip and that they have undergone a DNA test.
For socio-biological reasons we do not hand over
puppies that are younger than 10 weeks - preferentially
as of their 12th week -
as
our grown up and well educated dogs do a good and
indispensable job in bringing up the puppies.
We attach importance to a good contact to the new
owners of our puppies and support them in all topics
related to the education and the keeping of the dogs.
